History
Formation
The band officially formed in 2005.
...Almost Midnight (2006-2007)
Their debut EP "...Almost Midnight" was recorded at Infrasonic Sound Studios, known for projects by The Mars Volta and Saosin. The release had an aggressive pop rock sound, and the single "California Song" helped them become a finalist on the Diskmakers IMWS contest and chosen for their compilation CD.
Simple Thoughts and Tragedy (2007-2008)
A year later they introduced their sophomore EP "Simple Thoughts and Tragedy", featuring production by Gold record/Platinum download certified producer (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights, Plain White T's and Less Than Jake). They released the single "Critic's Last Stand" which earned them multiple plays on the "Locals Only" show of the world famous rock radio station KROQ. In the summer of 2008 the band was selected in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition, which resulted in a slot on the .
Attracted to Disaster (2008-2009)
In early 2009 Letters Burning released their 3rd EP "Attracted to Disaster", which landed them airplay on KROQ yet again with their single "Strip Me Down". During the summer the band put together a 50 In-Store Hot Topic Tour throughout California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington to help promote their new release. In summer 2009, they played the FM's Universal CityWalk Summer Concert Series.
Fourth Studio Album (2010)
While no formal announcement has been made for a new album in 2010, they recently released a new single, "Valley" on their official website, in June 2010.
Style
In a review for the album "Attracted to Disaster", Kendra Beltran of CWG Magazine says about Letters Burning: "(They've got) upbeat vocals combined with actual rock music. Close your eyes and imagine if Escape The Fate took it down a notch and got a dude with more to offer than side-swiped hair, on vocals. Basically, they’re a set of well-tuned pipes backed by rock, minus that auto tune thing that’s been going around like a lice outbreak in a third grade class."
Charity and Fan Involvement
Letters Burning are known for including personal responses to nearly every fan's email and for their loyal Cookie Cutter Killer Fan Club, providing a continuous string of contests, including private shows. They have also worked with charities such as Invisible Children, 4NOLA (Hurricane Katrina victims) and StandUp For Kids (which presented the band an award for their involvement). The group also promotes at every pertinent local gig and regularly takes pictures with fans (who can find them posted on their interactive Facebook page).
