Leo Dasilva

Leo Babarinde Akinola Da Silva (born 10, July 1992) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and investor, and a public speaker. Leo was a housemate in the reality TV show in 2018. He is the chief executive officer of Big Figure Small World Limited and SODZ Entertainment. Leo is involved in things like education, gender equality, real estate, empowerment, and policymaking.
He received a commendation from the United Nations in June 2021 for his work with UN Women.
Early life and education
Leo was born in Ishaga Surulere, Lagos state, to Sir Leo Babarinde Dasilva, a former secretary to the Lagos State Government and Sanni RMO, in 1992. He attended Pampers Private School in Surulere, Lagos before he proceeded to Rainbow College, and then Christ the King International School, where he obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 2008. He then moved to the United Kingdom where he bagged a double major in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire. Leo has three siblings, one of whom is Lanre da Silva, a Nigerian fashion designer based in Lagos.
Career
Leo started his entrepreneurial career early. At 17, he founded SODZ entertainment, an entertainment company in England. The company later shifted focus as a booking company for international artists and hosting music festivals in Minnesota, USA. In 2012, he started Big Figure Small World Limited, in the UK, which was later moved to Nigeria in October 2015. He worked briefly as Director of partnerships for Powerview Group in 2017.
Following his participation in the reality TV show in 2018,, an investment company specializing in private equity. He has worked with several global brands and companies like PZ Cussons, Arsenal F.C., Rémy Martin, Yikodeen, LG Electronics West Africa, Skillshare USA, and UN Women. Fox43 recently listed Leo as top 20 entrepreneurs to watch out for in 2021.
Recognition
In June 2021,<ref name=":1" /> Leo was awarded the SDG humanitarian icon of peace and societal development for his service to community development through philanthropy and social responsibility.
