Legolas by Laura is the name given to a fanfic story about The Lord of the Rings. The story has achieved popularity on the Internet because of its unintentionally poor quality. Legolas, as the story's actual title goes, stars the Elf Legolas and a young girl named Laura. The story starts with Legolas finding the infant Laura orphaned, and taking her to his parents' home. After a decade, orcs commanded by Sauron kidnap Laura, and Legolas goes out to save her. The story ends in a romance between Legolas and Laura. The reasons for the fanfic's unintentional popularity are the stereotypical Mary Sue plot, and the poor quality of the text. Most sentences run into each other, separated only by "and then", and many words in the story are consistently misspelled. |
