Legion of Dynamic Discord

The Legion of Dynamic Discord (or LDD), is the sect of Discordianism, which is a modern religion based in the Principia Discordia, that all Discordians belong to if they have not founded their own sect (even if they belong to someone elses sect, they are a member of the LDD). They are referred as followers of the Discordianism religion and also as Legionaires.

The sect of Discordianism founded by Malaclypse The Younger and Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst is known as the Paratheo-Anametamystikhood Of Eris Esoteric (POEE), a Non-prophet Irreligious Disorganisation, and the Principia Discordia tells us much about POEE in particular, as well as Discordianism in general.

POEE LEGIONNAIRE DESCIPLES are authorized to initiate others as Discordian Society Legionnaires. PRIESTS appoint their own DEACONS. The POLYFATHER ordains Priests.

According to the Principia Discordia, POEE is “a tribe of philosophers, theologians, magicians, scientists, artists, clowns, and similar maniacs who are intrigued by Eris goddess of confusion and her doings.” Furthermore it states that “POEE subscribes to the of Omar's sect” and “POEE also recognizes the Holy 23.”

The Golden Apple refers to the apple of discord, it is used as the symbol of the Legion of Dynamic Discord; the golden apple makes a number of appearances, for example, on a black flag, and as an emblem on a uniform. Leviathan refers to the Biblical sea monster Leviathan, which is a potential danger to Hagbard's submarine Leif Erickson (from the name of the icelandic discoverer of America).

Their symbol is composed by an evil scheme uncovered, it is an attempt to immanentize the eschaton (a catchphrase meaning "bringing about the end of the world" or "creating heaven on earth", and derived from a quotation in the works of Eric Voegelin).

Founding place

According to the founder, the society was founded on either the Santa Fe Springs or Friendly Hills bowling alley east of Los Angeles in Southern California, Western USA.
