Pupils take great enjoyment in their education because outstanding teaching ensures that the work they receive inspires and challenges them to learn. This factor, combined with an innovative curriculum, helps them to achieve high standards in all subjects. ... A key factor of the success of the school is its outstanding leadership and management." Athletics In 2008, Lane End teamed up with the Sale Sharks Rugby Union Football Club to help introduce and instruct children in playing rugby union. History In its early days Cheadle Hulme was not centred around a parish church and instead was at this time based around a number of separate hamlets. Lane End was a group of several cottages and farmland located close to Millington Hall. It is from this hamlet, the modern school gains its name. The school was built in 1967, as two separate infant and junior buildings, that amalgamated in 1990.
