La Conecta is a French Death-Rap group formed in 1997 by Junior Makhno (aka Magikillah aka Mic Donovan aka Killatone aka Lazy Perse) and The Subzero (aka Pussy Shava aka Degolà aka Silly Perse). Junior Makhno (born 1983) got involved in the local music scene early in his life, forming a trashcore band (along with Patrice Dambrine of The Cavaliers, Action Falls Short, Jetsex and Motel Hell) at the age of 11. He composes the instrumental part for the band. His rhymes are mostly inspired by revenge and revolution, as he took part of the French riots and social movement that took place there, specially in 2005-2006. His nick-name is a reference to the Ukrainian anarchist leader Nestor Makhno.
Subzero (born 1984), grew up as a militant hustler, plotting against the matrix and scheming on how to rob Brinks' trucks. His lyrics are mostly inspired by hunger, women and revolution. He's a straight black block warrior, able to throw a rock right under a cop's helmet at 50 meters.
Based in "Necropolis 60200" (code name for the dead city of Compiègne, France), the band has expanded as an independent label since 2001 and produces now for artists like TSW Crew, Almas Perversas, Ern Dawgy, Double Couzi, Dead Wolf, Dodeneters... Both members of La Conecta take part to other projects such as Hommes de l'Ombre (La Conecta & DJ Kaïssa), Windbrothers (Jr Makhno & Debmaster), SHOCK.WAV (Jr Makhno & TaNoS).
BIOGRAPHY - In 1997, Subzero & Makhno meet and form a punk-trashcore band, "Lose Controls". They perform savage shows in front of local colleges and edit a 5 tracks demotape. - In 1999, influenced by artists like Gravediggaz, Psycho Realm and Necro, they start to transpose their rage and hunger through Makhno's breakbeats, using an MC-505 Groovebox and a S-2000 AKAI sampler, spitting fire along with T.I.B. and F3 of Noble ASM. As their connexion with the underground French hip-hop scene grows, they form the supergroup Hommes de l'Ombre with the scratch expert DJ Kaïssa and team up with local Death-rappers Double Couzi. - In 2001, Makhno meets Debmaster in high school and they build together the foundations of what will become later the band Windbrothers. Debmaster is currently under contract with Hipnotik Records and has gained local notoriety as electro-dance performer, mostly through his heavy touring and his album "Monster Zoo". - In 2005, a meeting with Z-Funk producer Tanos from Vandalistic Art Crew gives birth to the SHOCK.WAV project, resulting in a series of mixtapes. The same year, La Conecta releases the video "Les Cannibales" and performs its first show with Langagement. - In 2007, Junior Makhno release his first vinyl EP "Theatre of the Macabre" through Bruit-Direct's management and works on TSW Crew's debut LP "Pernicieusement Votre". The band is now working on numerous projects such as their debut LP, and an international death-rap compilation, even though Subzero's temporary exile to London slows relatively down the group's progress for now.

TRIVIA *The shooting of the video "Les Cannibales" required the minimal budget of 3 € 50, just to buy the meat and the ketchup. The cook appearing in the end didn't speak a single word of French and did what he was told to, probably thinking that it was for a documentary about kebabs. Every other scenes were shot at the apartment rented by Makhno & Subzero, a few months before they start to mess up the whole building and leave without paying nothing. *La Conecta's art gets much inspiration from the 60's Italian and French cinema, especially Giallo flicks and early slashers. La Conecta's lyrics are a constant homage to the work of Mario Bava, Lucio Fulci, Jess Franco, Jean Rollin, Ruggero Deodato, or Dario Argento.
