Schweizer's formal experience in the baseball world includes a stint as an intern, account executive and radio producer/broadcaster for the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League from 1997-1999. In his youth, he was a ballboy for the Miami Marlins. He has written on history of the Miami Marlins/Ft. In 2007, Schweizer was involved with the production of a PBS documentary dealing with the history of Miami Stadium. The film, entitled White Elephant: What is There to Save? has already been shown regionally, on several Florida PBS affiliates, and will air nationally, later this year. Schweizer served as one of the main interviewees, as well as a contributing photographer and historical consultant for the film.

He was also a drummer with four Florida-based, independent label bands in the 1980's and 90's, including Audio Disturbances.
