Kriya Sharir

Kriya Sharir is the name given to the branch of Ayurveda that deals with human physiology. India officially recognizes Ayurveda as one of the important healthcare systems along with Siddha, Homeopathy, Unani, Sowa-Rigpa and Yoga. This is in addition to conventional medicine, also known as Allopathy. There is a separate ministry (Ministry of AYUSH) that looks into the governance aspect of these systems. The Central Council of Indian Medicine governs graduate and post-graduate level of education in Ayurveda and the council lists 'Kriya Sharir' as one of the subjects taught during first professional course of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, a degree program that spans into five-and-a-half-years. Kriya Sharir also forms one of the specialties in which post-graduate level of Ayurveda education is imparted in India.
The subject deals with the concepts such as - - Mala, etc.
The subject is receiving attention in the recent years because of the newer information the concepts such as Prakriti have been able to provide. Researchers have been applying the genomic and other related tools to do this.
