Kottakkal Nandakumaran Nair is an Indian Kathakali dancer known for his ‘Kathi’ veshas and skill in enacting ‘Pacha’ and ‘Minukku’ veshas. Performances As a panel artist for the Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) he performed Kathakali internationally, including in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, (his first tour in 1971) Poland, France, China, South Korea,Russia, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Brazil, Netherlands, Spain and Arabic countries. The Paris Theater Festival, Gothenburg Theater Festival, Ramayana Festival in Indonesia, Shakesperean Festival Germany and Portugal, and the Traditional Theater Festival Brazil are some of the festivals where he performed. He has instructed at University of Warsaw, , Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and universities, colleges and schools across India. Early life Nandakumaran Nair was born to Kovurath Mundathu Parukutti Amma and Karuthedath Govindan Nair. After completing primary education in Desamangalam, Thrissur district, Kerala, he joined Kerala Kalamandalam to learn Thullal. He completed the course under Kalamandalam Divakaran Nair and Malabar Kannan Nair.
