The Kokosingers are Kenyon College's first original a cappella group, and the only all-male a cappella group on campus. The Kokosingers were founded in 1965 by four freshmen, who were all members of the Kenyon chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. The Kokosingers, also known as The Kokes, are the second-oldest, student-run singing group at Kenyon. Members pick out and arrange their own music. New members are selected by auditions held in the first week of classes each year.
The Kokosingers perform two major concerts on-campus, one during orientation week and one on the last day of classes. They also perform an annual charity benefit concert. This concert is usually held in the first weeks of second semester and is the only Kokes performance with a suggested donation. All proceeds from the concert go to the American Cancer Society. The Kokes also perform around the country during their winter tour. Previous tour stops include Syracuse, New York City, Boston, and D.C.
Former members who have reached national prominence include Christopher Smith, an American actor, and Marc Lacuesta, an American sound engineer and vocalist.
