Kinwardship

Kinwardship is the idea that humans have the capacity to manage, alter, degrade and restore the world. Giving them the opportunity to manage it wisely as they realize their specie's interdependence with the rest of the natural world. Not above or below it but just different in their evolved and god given reflective consciousness.
This article is about the debate on whether humans are playing a steward "see Stewardship" or kin "see Kinship" role in regarding our relations with the other biota of this planet. To declare ourselves as stewards, or managers we would then be placing ourselves above and out of touch with the natural world that surrounds us, but to say we are kins is possibly just saying we are just part of the natural world as much as any unintelligent and thoughtless wild beast. There is a middle ground to be looked at here and this is both stewardship and kinship.
It is imperative that we view ourselves as both wise manager and kins of this world, we cannot escape the laws of nature(though we do try) and we cannot deny that we are different in the ability to think, create and destroy. It is imperative then, in regards to this impending climate and pollution crises, that we take on a new view of ourselves and our relationship with the natural world. One way is to look to the natural world to solve these ecological problems because they have been created from a deviation from the natural world. It is imperative that we look to new methods to methods such as Biomimicry, revering the natural world because it has been here for 3.8 billion years evolving and perfecting systems of survival. We won't ever respect it until we realize we are an inseparable part of it.
