The Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple is a planned temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to be constructed in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.<ref name="2011-10 desnews"/> The announcement was made by church president Thomas S. Monson on October 1, 2011.<ref name="2011-10 desnews"/> The temple was announced concurrently with the Barranquilla Colombia, Durban South Africa, Star Valley Wyoming, and Provo City Center temples.<ref name="2011-10 desnews"/> At the time, the announcement brought the total number of temples worldwide to 166. This is the first temple to be built in Democratic Republic of the Congo. The temple's planned location or construction schedule has not been announced.
