Biography
Kimberley Mathers is the ex-wife of hip-hop star Eminem, whom she has married and divorced twice. Some elements of their relationship have been mentioned in Eminem's lyrics. Their relationship troubles have received public scrutiny and have often been the subject of celebrity gossip, and, at times, have spilled over into public feuding.

They met for the first time in 1987, at a friend's house, and
started dating in 1991. On December 25, 1995, their only child, Hailie Jade Scott, was born. After Eminem was signed to Aftermath Records, the couple were married on June 14, 1999 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

In 2000, as Eminem's fame and publicity increased following the release of his second major-label album, The Marshall Mathers LP, the couple's troubled relationship was often a news topic. The recording of the compact-disc track, "Kim," includes Eminem shouting verbal abuse at her (Kim's voice is also played by Eminem on the track) for getting into a relationship with someone else; it ends with the sound of her throat being cut while Eminem shouts, "Bleed, bitch, bleed! Bleed!"

The track was framed by Eminem as a prequel to the only slightly less-gruesome track, on his The Slim Shady LP, "97' Bonnie & Clyde (itself a parody of Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton's "Just the Two of Us") — the lyrics of which tell of Eminem's disposal of the body of his wife while their daughter, Hailie, rides in the car.

In Detroit, Kim attended a live concert where she saw Mathers, on stage, abusing a mock-up "Kim" doll, to audience approval — a recurring feature of Mathers's performance in the Up In Smoke Tour. Following this concert, on July 7, 2000, Kim attempted suicide by cutting her wrists (Eminem refers to this in his song "When I'm Gone").

Eminem first filed for divorce in August of 2000, but the divorce proceedings were delayed. In December, the couple reconciled for the sake of their daughter. The relationship ended when Kim filed for divorce in March of 2001. They went through an ugly custody battle over Hailie. The divorce was final in October of 2001.

After almost three years of rumors that the two of them had reconciled, it was confirmed on December 7, 2005, when Eminem announced that the couple were together and would probably re-marry in 2006. The marriage took place on January 14, 2006, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. However, on April 5, Eminem filed for divorce for the second time; the divorce went through on December 19, 2006.

Children
Kim and Marshall Mathers have one daughter together; Hailie Jade Scott, born on December 25, 1995. The Mathers are also guardians to Alaina Marie Scott, born on May 3, 1993, the daughter of Kim's sister. Kim Mathers also has a second daughter, Whitney Laine Scott, born on April 16 fathered by Eric Hartter, 2002; Whitney appears in the video, she is the youngest girl on the swing.
