KenyaDig is an underground hip-hop duo based in Upland, California. They have recently emerged onto the scene of Inland Empire hip-hop and have earned some critical acclaim for their above par production. An album, "KenyaDig It?" is on the books for 2009. Members * Nyaga * Tongun Name The group gets its name from the fact that Nyaga is Kenyan while Tongun is of Bari (Sudan) and European origin. Style Their beat style is samples from old soul and jazz records integrated with an Ensoniq ASR-10. Their lyrics usually speak about issues plaguing the African-American community and current politics. The group is creating a new and unique sound style based on old school hip-hop that is defining the underground hip-hop movement of the Inland Empire. |
