Kenny Lee is a musician, TV personality, and IT specialist from Melbourne, Australia. Born as Kenneth Lee on July 3, 1985, Lee first gained public attention as a seven-year-old on the children's television show Lift Off. On this show, Lee exposed himself to the ridicule of a nation of viewers who were unsympathetic to his poor performance in the notoriously simple Lotus Flower challenge. Notwithstanding the humiliation that followed, Lift Off provided the catalyst for Lee's passion for television. And Lee went on to complete a course in TV presenting. Finding it difficult to crack the market, Lee had not graced Australian television screens again until just recently when he appeared on Foxtel Australia's premier music channel, Channel , as part of their Presenter Search 2009. Having made the Top 30 in the nationwide search for a new presenter, Lee starred in one of three semi-finals, filmed at Melbourne's infamous Esplanade Hotel. With his trademark tattoos and scathing review of Weezer's seventh studio album Raditude, Lee became an instant hit with Channel 's viewers. He placed third overall in the Melbourne group of finalists, losing out to William Russell and Ane Glahn-Bertlesen, who finished first and second respectively. Despite being an individual competition, the three finalists formed a friendship and, soon after, a professional relationship. Branding themselves MM ('Veg and Two Meat'), the Lee-led group have been touted as the 'next big things' in Australian music television, making waves with their original brand of offbeat comedy and shocking realism. But television has always played second fiddle to Lee's first love: music. A gifted guitarist and lyricist, Lee found notoriety between 2004 and 2008 as the badass member of Melbourne band Goodnight Combat Fighter. The group received minor success in the form of radio play and a sold-out headlining tour, but its members have since disbanded to pursue other livelihoods. Nevertheless, music continues to remain an essential part of Lee's life. Recent reports indicate that Lee has plans to incorporate his musical talents in a new project with MM, combining his guitar skills with the angelic voice of Glahn-Bertelsen and the sick-as dance moves of Russell. Although just how exactly these plans will manifest themselves remains to be seen. On a personal level, Lee's favourite foods are Gefilte fish and Katsu (even though he's totally Chinese, not Japanese). And his hobbies include trash-talking and ringing the sales bell at his current place of employment, some big fancy foreign exchange company. Lee married his high school sweetheart, Linna, earlier this year.
