Ken E. Cooper is an American musician, writer, humorist and entertainer. Creator of schm3cky (AKA schm3cky with a 3). Born February 21st,1959 in Portland, Oregon he grew up all over the city. A graduate of Portland's unique public school, MLC (Metropolitan Learning Center) Cooper went on to play bass in the Portland band "Confidentials". They enjoyed local success until an ill advised marriage took him out of the scene. Replaced by Tim Clift (Restless Natives), the "Confidentials" went on to enjoy more success and where poised for stardom. The band broke up for unknown reasons. Some claim vodoo. Others say it was creative differences. Cooper went on to play bass in the short lived Techno ('cause they techno guitars) band called, "Science" with Ben Davis (singer/songwriter/keyboardist) of "The Odds, 2minutes50", and Chown Carter (drums) of "The Untouchables", (Portland band). Following this, Cooper joined Jim France Rueterskiold (singer/songwriter), Demetre Hajenian (guitar) and Ried Kenner (drums) who were forming "Superstitions". The band went though a couple of permutations, adding another guitarist (Kevin Congove of Restless Natives), changing drummers to Charlie Maur (a friend of Cooper's) and losing a guitarist (Hajenian), until finally disbanding. Ken E. Cooper is currently playing bass with Ricky Taura in the band, "Powerhit" and writing.
