Keko Hainswheeler is a British costume designer, fashion and wardrobe director working between London, New York, Los Angeles. Career Keko was born in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Keko’s designs and custom fashion pieces have adorned by celebrities and influential recording artists like including Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Jessie J, Dizzee Rascal, Take That, Bat for Lashes, Natalie Portman, Naomi Campbell, Madonna and Nicki Minaj. His list of global collaborators includes fashion publications V Magazine, Dazed and Confused, Hunger, Vogue Hommes Japan, Vanity Fair, Johnny Wujek, Jay Massacret, Anna Trevelyan, and photographers Mario Testino, Hedi Slimane, Tim Walker, Sølve Sundsbø, Steven Klein, and Terry Tsiolis amongst others. Yamaha, Camper shoes, Recording artist's, global tours, performances and music videos Keko worked with Lady Gaga, conceptualising and fabricating whole sections for The Fame Ball Tour and record breaking The Monster Ball Tour (the highest grossing tour in history by a debut recording artist) creating looks for Gaga and her dancers. The designer also created numerous custom looks for Lady Gaga’s stage/television performances and music videos including the feathered neck brace, that received global press/media acclaim, worn by Gaga for the MTV Music Awards red carpet and looks for Gaga’s stage performance. For Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour the designer looks include the creation of a custom made animatronic moving butterfly headpiece consisting of thousands of hand cut butterflies and encrusted in Swarovski crystal. As part of Nicki Minaj "Juice world tour" Keko created a series of pieces for the artist including custom gold plated armoured shoes, gloves and adornments. Pink’s Beautiful Trauma World Tour, he created a series of crowns for the artists tour that were showcased on all global promotional materials as well as merchandise and stage imagery world wide. For Madonna's global launch of Medellín with MTV, Keko joined up with Gregory Kara to create a custom jacket look referencing Madonna's iconic style and alter ego Madam X. Keko worked closely and costumed Melanie Martinez K-12 Tour as lead costume designer creating the whole tour to include hand made trims, print and custom footwear for the artists and dancers. Fashion design-consultancy Keko has designed and creatively consulted on a number of projects for the clothing brand Diesel, working closely with brands artistic director Nicola Formichetti from 2014 to 2017. He also created Diesel’s 35th anniversary consulting and designing the global "Diesel TributeCollection" and The "Diesel Leather Tribute Collection" paying homage to the brand. Keko also designed and consulted on runway looks for Diesel's Spring/Summer '15 runway collection which opened Shanghai Fashion Week. Museums exhibitions The Victoria and Albert Museum has exhibited his work and he was invited by the Victoria and Albert Museum London to present a public talk as a result of his recognized achievements, discussing his process, influences, and career to date. At the Design Museum, London, as part of the exhibition entitled “Women Fashion and Power” Keko worked for recording artist Skin, was exhibited as part of a global touring exhibition chosen for their striking visual effect and strong expression of female empowerment. At the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles his works for Katy Perry frock and roll Prismatic World tour were featured as part of the exhibition spanning iconic costumes from Katy’s performances.
