Kattoor Kalasadhanam is an art and cultural organisation created by a group of people from the village Kattoor, in Thrissur district, Kerala on 10 January 2010. The main agenda of the Kalasadhanam is to create an awareness of the cultural as well as social activities and spread the message of unity among the village people. Asokan Charuvil, a well known story writer and member of the Kerala Public Service Commission is the main patron of the organisation. Kalasadhanam is affiliated with Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academy and Kerala Folklore Academy. This organisation is registered under Charitable Act, Kerala. Kalasadhanam is in forefront of all the cultural and art activities of the Kattoor village. A number of cultural events and art festivals conducted by this organisation have achieved a noticeable publicity in the Thrissur district. Cultural Events Conducted By Kalasadhanam * Muttathe Mulla * Chintha Sangamam * Onam-Christmas-Ramadan Celebrations * Kalasadhanam Anniversary Fest Muttathe Mulla Kalasadhanam annual meeting and cultural-art festival followed by this event is known as "Muttathe Mulla". This event is conducted every year and now it is turned out to be a festival of entire village people for celebration and unity. A number of famous folklore art forms such as Theyyam, Chavittu Nadakam, Kuthirakali, Margam Kali, Paricha Muttu, Oppana, Kalamezhuthu.. etc. are performed as part of this event. Along with these popular village art forms, display of drawings, photographs, sculptures and handicrafts of natives, distribution of village food items, various activities for children..etc. are also conducted as part of this grand event. Chintha Sangamam Chintha sangamam is a common discussion platform for members as well as villagers regarding any relevant contemporary topics. This discussion is conducted 2-3 times in a month and actively participated by group members. Very often, these discussions are blessed by the presence of well known persons who have given their relevant contributions to the topic. So this is an opportunity for the villagers to hear from them and to have a discussion with them. Onam-Christmas-Ramadan Celebration Every year Kalasadhanam celebrates the Onam, Christmas and Ramadan festivals with members and villagers in a secular way. A good number of people participates in all these celebrations. These celebrations are the opportunities for the children as well as members to present their artistic abilities in front of the public.
