Kasim Keto is a music producer from Brooklyn, NY. His debut album "Long Car Rides" was released on Babygrande Records, and he has produced tracks for rappers such as Roc Marciano and Hasan Salaam. History Kasim Keto was born in Brooklyn and raised by two Jamaican immigrant parents. While growing up, he moved from New York, to Alabama, to Florida and then back to New York, which is now evident in his productions that draw from a wide range of musical influences. Kasim mainly grew up in Queens, New York where he currently resides. Kasim began writing music at the age of 8. At the age of 16, Kasim began cutting school and started working at numerous recording studios to learn pro audio gear. Currently, he uses various synthesizers like the Korg Triton, the Korg Karma, and an Akai MPC to create his music, along with a lot of software like FL Studio and Ableton. He draws influences from all over music, specifically Pete Rock, Flying Lotus, DJ Premier, RZA, 9th Prince, True Master, and Onra, among many others. With his debut album "Long Car Rides" in 2013, he blended hip-hop, electro, and jazz into a cohesive musical adventure. He used unorthodox drum patterns to keep the productions enticing and processed his own vocals to create another instrumental layer over the rest of the tracks. The music and subsequent album title came together during commutes back and forth to the studio or digging for records. He listened to a lot of music and sank into deep contemplation. He wanted to create a snapshot of what was going on currently in his life and what he would think about during those rides. A number of tracks from "Long Car Rides" are currently in rotation on Sirius XM radio. Kasim also produced Roc Marciano's track "Bust The Work Down," which was used in the hit indie film "Kid Cannabis." Kasim Keto's sophomore album is due out in 2014.
