The Kalavalapalli family appears to have origins from Kalavalapalli village in West Godavari district. Some of them migrated to Prakasam district. There are three brothers and three sisters of one of the Kalavalapalli offshoot. The eldest of the brothers Kalavalapalli Narasimham has brought-up his brothers and sisters. The youngest brother Kalavalapalli Venkata Ramana Rao after retirement from a PSU as a design engineer, started cultivating Stevia since 2003 in the outskirts of Hyderabad. He is the first one in the state of Andhra Pradesh (AP) who has introduced Stevia - the wonder plant to the people of AP. Several of them are benefited and benefiting using this natural stevia. Kalavalapalli Ramana Rao has given several presentations on the wonder plant - Stevia locally and is showcasing the Stevia natural powder in several exhibitions.
