K Republic is an American progressive goth band, founded in 2008. History In 2008, Alexei Gorshenev, the frontman for Kukryniksy was introduced to the American singer-songwriter Stephanie Starr and the idea for the English language crossover album was born. The new project became K Republic whose artistic concept hinged on the chemistry between Gorshenev and Starr, a vocal partnership that produces a soft, ethereal sound. Though formed from the original members of Kukryniksy with the addition of Starr, K Republic is a major artistic departure. K Republic has attracted a lot of press attention in Eastern Europe, and a write up in Rolling Stone, which described K Republic a "gothic-country" act. K Republic's maxi single, "Last Resort", was released in December 2009. The full-length LP, All Those Things I Left Behind, was released on September 24, 2010. Gorshenev was born in Russia's far east, and is a singer, composer and musician. Starr is a native of Texas. A trained musician, she is a singer and the lyricist for K Republic. K Republic's second studio album was scheduled for release early in 2013.
