Career
Samuels began writing news articles for OpEdNews in 2011. In 2011, Samuels was an activist for increasing diversity in the film industry. Things became extremely controversial in his life after major Hollywood bloggers/screenwriters such as John August discussed and criticized his speaking out and activism. Even the Black List's Go Into the Story blog mentioned him. At this same time he was heavily involved with Occupy Wall Street. He did things such as help plan Occupy Central Park. Lee Stranahan of Breibart fame frequently cited his work, as Stranahan was covering Occupy Wall Street at the time. After the notoriety of his actions to bring attention to the marginalization of filmmakers of color blew over, he moved on to other things. In 2016, Wine Tasting's screenplay was a finalist in the Beverly Hills Film Festival Script Competition. In 2017 Wine Tasting was filmed and released.
