Junior Bible Quizzing

Bible quizzing is a program in which kids ages 6-18 get to participate in learning The Bible and they are tested on it. Junior bible quizzers age from age nine to grade 6. Each time that they are tested or quizzed on it, it called a quiz. Quizzes for junior quizzers have 15 questions. Quizzes are 15 questions long and can range from very short, to very long amounts of time.
When the quiz starts, there are two teams. A red team and a yellow team. There are usually 2 judges, one quizmaster (the person that asks the questions), and one score keeper. There are three kinds of points that you can get during quizzing 10 pointers, 20 pointers and 30 pointers. The amount of points a question is determined my how hard the question is.
The way that a quizzer is called is by buzzing in by using buzzers. Buzzers are connected to a wire that is connected to a computer that knows which person has buzzed in and the computer calls out who buzzed in.
There are six types of questions. Quotation questions, location questions, and quotation completion questions, cross-reference quotation questions, cross-reference location questions, and direct questions. There are actually a lot more than six types of questions but they are little spin-offs of the other ones.
Quotation Questions
A quotation question is when the quizmaster gives the reference (or location) of the verse, then the quizzer has to quote the verse that was referenced.
EX:
Quiz master: Yellow one?
(It can be and number out of these numbers Rred Yyellow; R1, R2, R3, Y1, Y2, Y3)
Quiz master: Quote Proverbs chapter 4 verse 18.

Quizzer: The path of the just is as the shining light which shineth more and more until the perfect day.
Location Questions
Location questions are where you locate the verse that was quoted by the quizmaster.
EX:
Quizmaster: The proverbs of Solomon...

Quizzer: the son of David, King of Israel. (After the quizzer has finished the question, they now must give the answer.)
Quizzer: Proverbs chapter one, verse one.
Quotation Completion
The next type of question is a quotation completion question. The quizmaster starts quoting a verse, and the Quizzer has to buzz in and finish the verse.
EX:
Quizmaster: To know wisdom and...

Quizzer: instruction, to perceive the words of understanding.
Quotation Cross-References
The next type of question is a quotation cross-reference question. This question lives true to his name. In quotation cross-reference questions you are quoting two or more verses. They are usually looking for similarities like the word Solomon.
EX:
Quizmaster: Quote the two verses of our studies that contain the word Solomon

Quizzer: (verse 1) The Proverbs of Solomon the son of David King of Israel. (verse 2) The Proverbs of Solomon a wise son maketh a glad father, but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
Location Cross-References
The next type of question is the location cross-reference question. It is basically the same as a quotation cross-reference question but in location form
EX:
Quizmaster: Locate the two verses that contain the phrase "the fear of the Lord"

Quizzer: Proverbs 1:7 and Proverbs 9:10
Direct Questions
The final type of question is the direct question. It is kind of like a fill in the blank thing.
EX:
Quizmaster: Trust in whom with all thy what according to Proverbs chapter 3 verse 5.

There are two ways to answer this question. You can either quote the entire verse (that only applies in beginner or Junior Quizzing) or you can just say the words that were left out.
EX 1:
Quizzer: Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.
EX 2:
Quizzer: The Lord, heart
Interrupting
A way that quizzers can buzz in before the quizmaster finishes the question is called interrupting. If a quizzer interrupts, they have to finish the question roughly in the way that the quizmaster would have finished it. This skill of interrupting takes logic. For example, if the Quizmaster said Quote verse 45... You could interrupt right here because if you only have one chapter in you studies that has 45 verses in it, (say it is chapter 1) you could interrupt right as the quizmaster says 45. So you could finish the interrupted question by saying, of Proverbs chapter 1. Here is that in speaking form.
Quizmaster: Quote verse 45...
(the quizzer interrupts the question)
Quizzer: ...of Proverbs chapter 1
That would be a perfect interrupted quotation question
Senior Quizzing
There is one big difference in senior quizzing compared to junior quizzing. When the quizzer has a verse with a he or she, they have to say the person that the he or she is referring to.
Quizmaster: Quote Proverbs chapter 2 verse 4

Quizzer: If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures.
Her referring to wisdom.
Every time that the quizmaster is looking for something more in junior quizzing you can just quote the verse, but in senior quizzing you can only do that n a quotation or quotation cross-reference question.
