June 2023 Kallar Kahar bus accident

On 17 June 2023, a passenger bus traveling from Lahore to Rawalpindi overturned on M-2 Motorway near Kallar Kahar, which is about 133 km away from Islamabad. Preliminary reports from the National Highways and Motorway Police suggest that the accident was caused by brake failure. Casualties The accident resulted in at least 13 fatalities, including five women and three children. Additionally, 25 passengers were injured. There were a total of 34 passengers on board the bus. Response Police and rescue teams were quick to respond to the accident and launched a rescue operation immediately. The injured and deceased passengers were transported to the district headquarters hospital. |
