Julia Olteanu was an 18 year old Swedish girl who was brutally attacked and beaten to death on December 2 1998. The case remains unsolved. Case Julia Olteanu offered to buy milk for her parents in the local store in Höganäs. On her way home she was brutally attacked and beaten to death about 50 meters from her house. She died several days later in hospital. The case was given much media attention but when police didn't find any suspects or leads it was soon forgotten. The case gained media attention again in 2005 when the TV4 show Cold Case Sverige aired the details of the murder. The cold case group soon arrested two men for the murder, but they were released after a not guilty verdict at trial. The police and the cold case group in Skåne believe that Julia was killed because she saw two people stealing a bike that was reported stolen the day after the murder not far from where Julia was beaten. The police also have a theory that her murder can be linked to a number of murders on young people in the Höganäs area, especially the murder of a 13 year old girl. The cold case group and the Police continue to work on the case in hope of finding the killer.
