Joseph Casamassima

Joseph Casamassima is a graduate student at Harvard University, best known for his 2007 cross-country walk to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.
Casamassima is a former schoolteacher who grew up in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and attended The Pennsylvania State University. In 2007, he walked from his parent's home in Stroudsburg to the steps of the Main Public Library in San Francisco.
He planned to lead a 3-man delegation from the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area chapter of Amnesty International to meet with Representative Joseph R. Pitts regarding the human rights crisis in Darfur, in 2007.
In addition to his volunteer work, Casamassima is a musician. He performs with his indie folk rock/alternative country band The Wet Blankets, and also appeared on the song "Hard Feelings", on the Georgie James album Places.
