Jordis Losana Sikahema Unga (born August 6, 1982 in Chicopee, Massachusetts) is an American Rock music singer, best known for her appearance (and fifth-place finish) on the reality television show Rock Star: INXS. History She was born to parents Karen Motzko and Siosaia Unga. The middle child of three children, Jordis moved around frequently as a youngster, due in part to her father's work as a musician. Her family settled in St. Paul, Minnesota when she was about 8 years old. When she was a senior in high school, she attended the Perpich Center for Arts Education where she lived in the dormitory and studied music. She has one brother and one sister, and is of American and Tongan descent. She has performed in front of hundreds touring with her band The Fighting Tongs. The band performed in the concert tour "Riverfest", along with Twisted Sister, Anthrax, Sevendust, and Damageplan. In 2005, The Fighting Tongs disbanded, with several members, including Jordis, joining to form the new band Liars Club. In 2004, she was a contestant on CBS' "Star Search."' In 2005, she competed in the CBS show, Rock Star: INXS to be the new lead singer of INXS. She maintained a high level of popularity with viewers for most of the show, and at one point achieved the feat of simultaneously having the top four most downloaded songs on MSN Music. Her most praised performance was a rendition of David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold the World", and she also gave well-received renditions of "Baba O'Riley" by The Who and "Heart-Shaped Box" by Nirvana. After her performance of Dream On on week 7, Jordis began to second guess herself and wondered if she was the one for INXS. She appeared to not have her full heart into future performances. After a song choice that was questioned by INXS she made a comment that appeared to many to be a resignation, that she didn't feel continuing was right for her or the band. This led to her elimination on week 9 after forgetting the lyrics to "Need You Tonight". Since leaving the show, Jordis released her version of "Man Who Sold The World" digitally to iTunes and many other digital outlets. Jordis also recorded a Strip Down Version of her original song she sang on Rock Star: INXS, "Try Not". The song can be heard on her MySpace page. Jordis is currently working on her debut CD. She has recorded many tracks such as her originals "I Know You're Watching" and her cover version of The Morning Papers by Prince. A release date has yet to be set.
