Jonathan Korngold is a Senior Managing Director and head of Blackstone’s Growth Equity investing platform, which provides capital to companies during the phase between venture capital investments and traditional buyouts. Formerly, he was head of General Atlantic’s (GA) Global Financial Services sector, Chairman of the firm's Portfolio Committee, and was a member of the firm’s Executive, Investment, Human Resources, and Emerging Growth Investment Committees. He also previously worked in GA’s London office, and led the firm’s Global Healthcare sector. He worked with many of the firm’s portfolio companies in the financial services, healthcare, and business services sectors. Before joining GA in 2001, Korngold was a member of Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment Area and Mergers & Acquisitions groups in London and New York, respectively. Korngold studied Mandarin Chinese at Peking University and did pro bono work for the U.S. Embassy's Foreign Commercial Service in Beijing. He is also active with Harvard University, where he co-chairs fundraising for his college class and has been a member of a number of dean-appointed strategic task forces for Harvard College and for the Harvard Business School. At General Atlantic, Korngold and his team were recognized for their efforts in the financial services sector, including having been named the top-ranked global Financial Technology investor by Institutional Investor on multiple occasions.
