John S. Gardiner is the current Chief of the Brockville Police Service in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. Gardiner was appointed to the position on June 1, 2011. He is the successor of Adrian Geraghty. Professional history Chief John S. Gardiner began his policing career with the Gloucester Police Service in September of 1978. Having completed over thirty-two years of policing and since the Ottawa Police amalgamation in 1995, he held posts of increasing responsibility. With the Ottawa Police Service he was the Inspector in Charge of Major Case Investigations, which included Homicide, Robbery, Partner Assault and Sexual Assault/Child Abuse and Elder Abuse. During his policing career he has served in Patrol, Corporate Services, Emergency Operations and Operational Support. Chief Gardiner has extensive experience in Criminal Investigation, Incident Command, Crisis Negotiation and Emergency Preparedness. Chief Gardiner is a well-known leader in the Police Community. He is an experienced public speaker, police educator and he has extensive experience with community and media relations.
