John Pounds Centre

The John Pounds Centre is a community centre located in Portsmouth. The centre was opened in 2006 and was named after John Pounds, encouraging locals to lead "a happier and healthier lifestyle, should that be through learning, physical or social activities." Facilities Sports Hall Library Housing Office Youth Rooms Launderette Cafe Gym Meeting/Training Rooms IT Suite Arts Spaces Office Space Dentist Nursery Sports Events In 2017, the Varsity Cup was held between the University of Portsmouth and the University of Southampton, in Gymnastics and Table Tennis. The centre has also hosted university tournaments in Trampolining and Basketball and club tournaments in 5 a-side. The centre is located on the course of the Great South Run and has been used as a drinks station in the past.
