Dr. John A. Estrella, CMC, PMP, CBAP, CTFL, CSTE, is a Filipino Canadian international management consultant, author and speaker in project management. He is the President of Agilitek Corporation, a management consulting firm that specializes in information technology (IT) project management, business analysis and software testing. Estrella is the Academic Coordinator of Project Management at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute - Southern Ontario Chapter and on the Board of Governors of Scouts Canada. He previously served on the provincial council of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Ontario (CMC-Ontario). business analysis and software testing; and a project team member in The Standard for Program Management - Second Edition. Education While working towards his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Estrella was named to the National Dean’s List and Pi Mu Epsilon (U.S. honorary mathematics society). He was awarded a teaching fellowship and a research grant for his Master of Science degree in Computer Science (4.0 GPA). Scouting Starting with the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) at age seven, Estrella served as a Youth Council Representative, attended the 8th BSP National Jamboree as a Council Contingent Patrol Leader and earned the Scout Citizen Award. As an exchange student, he joined the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) where he earned the Eagle Scout rank (with Bronze Palm). He was also nominated into the Order of the Arrow—BSA's national honour society. Estrella held various roles with Scouts Canada including section contact leader (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, and Venturer Scouts), Group Commissioner and Deputy Area Commissioner prior to joining the Board of Governors. He completed Wood Badge Part II, taught Wood Badge courses and enjoyed the 11th Canadian Jamboree (CJ ’07). to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. He will be leading a patrol to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden in 2011. In recognition of his contributions to Scouts Canada, he was awarded the Commemorative Centennial Medal and the Medal for Good Service.
