Joseph Charles Schriner (b. March 3, 1955, Cleveland, Ohio) (aka "average Joe" Schriner) is an Independent candidate for President of the United States. A resident of Bluffton, Ohio, Schriner ran in the 2000 and 2004 U.S. Presidential elections and has already begun campaigning for the 2008 race. In 2004 his running mate was Barbara A. Marlinski. Schriner graduated from Bay Village High School in 1973. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Bowling Green State University in 1978. He is married and has three children. Among his ideas are the establishment of a United States Department of Peace, an idea proposed by others such as Rep. Dennis Kucinich.
