Joaquin "Joke Laws-L" Claussell is a New York DJ, music producer, record label owner and former manager of Dance Trax record shop then based in the East Village, Manhattan, New York City, USA. He is best known as a DJ on the NYC DJ-ing scene, though his efforts are also prevalent on many a major artist's work as music producer or remixer. He also produces his own work under a myriad of aliases or groups he works with (The Bayara Citizens, The Lower East Side Pipes, Bolla, Mental Remedy, Mampo). He has been label owner of both Spiritual Life Music and later Sacred Rhythm Music, and continues to release quality, mainly deep house music mixed with percussion and latin influences and ambient style, via these channels and many others. He also has a brother who is a percussionist performing with Eddie Palmieri, José Claussell. |
