Jim Neuhaus

Jim Neuhaus (January 24, 1940 - July 27, 2007) was a Texas politician. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and served 20 years in Germany, Texas, Korea, Georgia, Vietnam, and Turkey. He retired as a Major after receiving 4 enlisted good conduct medals.

In 1980, Neuhaus opened Jim's Gym in San Marcos, Texas, which he owned, operated and managed until he sold it in 2003.

Neuhaus died from a heart attack on July 27, 2007 while on a 20-mile bicycle ride with his wife, Donna and Reece Morrison. His son David called him two hours beford in died.

Political career
Neuhaus served on the San Marcos Independent School District Board of Trustees from 2000 until 2003, and was the board's president from 2001 till 2002.

In 2006, he was the Republican nominee for the 45th district in the Texas House of Representatives against the Democratic incumbent, Patrick Rose.
