Jihene Ben Jazia

Jihene BEN JAZIA (born on July 9, 1976) is a Tunisian-French fashion designer, stylist, influencer and entrepreneur based in between Egypt and Tunisia. Her career in fashion started in 2012 when she created Maison ATYPIK, a line for handmade luxurious kaftans.
Jihene Ben Jazia is also a stylist and social media influencer.
Biography
Early life
Jihene Ben Jazia was born in Mahdia a small fisherman village in Tunisia in 1976. She is the third of five children of a middle-class family. She grew up in Tunis where she attended Pioneer School of Ariana from 1988 to 1993 and afterwards got her baccalaureate from Sadiki College in 1995.
Jihene showed interest on fashion from an early age. She used to help her aunt sewing since the age of 6. As a teenager, she would spend hours in thrift shops in search for a western specific piece of clothing or design.
Carrer and Education
Jihene pursed higher education on marketing and got her bachelor's degree in 2000 from Tunis University. She worked first on Advertising first on Advertising Agency then was hired for the launch of telecom company Ooredoo Tunisia as head of advertising department.
She moved in 2009 to Kuwait to pursue an MBA that she got in 2012 from Maastricht School of Management. During her studies, she founded Maison Atypik a luxury kaftan brand primary for the middle east market that she expanded to North Africa in 2017. Her interest in fashion grew more so she took an Intensive course in Fashion Design at Esmod Paris in 2015. Also, she graduated from IDRI Paris in 2017 as a stylist and image consultant.
Personal life
Jihene is married and has three children. She is now living in between Cairo and Tunis.
Maison Atypik
Each collection of Maison Atypik, designed by Jihene Ben Jazia, is a melting pot of artisanal embroidery and modern couture. She uses Arab calligraphy, associated to rich fabrics and colours. In her work she tries to mix traditional legacy and openness to the modern world.
The brand's key strength is its commitment to traditional networks and methods of production—sourcing textiles and artisans from across the MENA region—combined with the cutting edge, cosmopolitan aesthetic and a couture finishing.
Jihene was exposed at the Tunis Fashion Week in 2019. She was featured in several fashion magazines Vogue Arabia was one of them, and was the talk of several televisions and radios spots.
Influencer
When she moved to Kuwait in 2010, she started being more vocal on her Instagram account on subjects such as fashion, lifestyle, anecdotes, children education, personal development and feminism. She uses the pseudonym @jihene_atypik jihene instagram.
