Jessica Sporty is a woman who used Match.com to make roughly $1,200 in food and drinks from her dates. By switching between different men, she could eat out 5 nights a week without anyone being the wiser. After the original November 2011 Business Insider article attracted negative attention online, it was edited to protect her privacy with the psuedonym Minerva McGonagall from Harry Potter. The article with her real name was reissued after the Good Morning America interview. She justified herself, saying "New York is really expensive. ... A lot of these experiences I wouldn't have been able to have if I hadn't, you know, been on Match.com and gone through this," she said. "It was my own 'Sex and the City.'"<ref name=abc/>
