Jenna Jiaxin Tan

Jenna Jiaxin Tan is a professional disc golfer from Johor Bahru, Malaysia. She has won two PDGA Malaysian National Championships, six total Pro Championships, and one amateur national championship (Singapore 2018). Tan has been consistently ranked among the top professional women in Southeast Asia since 2020. Tan is currently sponsored by RPM Discs and also represents Throw Pink Disc Golf.
Professional career
Tan began playing disc golf in the United States while she was studying at Bowling Green State University as an international student. She began to compete as a professional at the start of the 2020 Disc Golf season in Southeast Asia.
In her first year competing as a professional, Tan won four PDGA Sanctioned Tournaments with her biggest win being the 2020 Malaysia Disc Golf National Championships on October 10, 2020.
The 2021 season saw limited action for Tan due to the cancellation of tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in August 2021, Tan became the first female in Malaysia to record a 900 or better PDGA rated competitive round, when she recorded a 929. She broke her own record on October 16, 2020, during the 2021 Malaysia Disc Golf National Championships where she recorded a 930 rating on her way to her second national title.
The 2021 disc golf season would finish with Tan being the highest PDGA rated female in Malaysia.
In addition to holding a number of PDGA tournament wins, she is the all-time leading women's winner within the Malaysia Disc Golf Circuit. Her tournament cash payout of 1,262 Malaysian ringgit from the 2021 Malaysian Disc Golf National Championship is also the highest cash award received by a female player within the country.
Tournament director
On April 27, 2019, Tan became the first local Malaysian to sanction and direct a PDGA tournament in Malaysia. The Beasts Unchained pro-am event brought in participants from Malaysia, USA, Singapore, New Zealand, Philippines and Finland. By the end of 2019, Tan would host and direct a total of 4 PDGA tournaments.
The Beasts Unchained tournament on April 27, 2019, directed by Tan, would also make her the first female in Southeast Asia to sanction and direct a PDGA tournament. Tan was quoted as saying "To attract more women to the sport of disc golf, we need to have more women stepping up in leadership".
Course design
In April 2018, Tan and her team would establish the first permanent disc golf course in Malaysia. Tan was a major financial sponsor, designer and contributed to the labor required for the installment of Bukit Indah's Roundabout Disc Golf Course. Since the installment of this permanent course, Tan has been involved in the establishment of 6 total courses in Malaysia.
Round-about Disc Golf Course
Established April 2018. Originally a 16-hole course that was later redesigned to 18 holes. It is located on the grounds of Taman Bukit Indah Recreational Park in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Lakes of Pelangi Indah Disc Golf Course
Established September 2018. An 18-hole course that plays around 3 lakes on the grounds of Taman Pelangi Indah Recreation Park in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Bale' Disc Golf Course
Established December 2018. An 18-hole course that plays on the Bale' Equestrian Club grounds, located in Gelang Patah, Johor, Malaysia.
Pulai Springs Disc Golf Course
Established in 2019. Was officially closed in 2020.
Puteri Harbor Disc Golf Course
Established in February 2021. An 18-hole course that plays between two residential parks in the Puteri Harbor District of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Missile Hills Disc Golf Course
Established in February 2022. A 18-hole disc golf course in the Medini District of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
