Jellybass

The Genre
Jellybass is the name given to a genre of music primarily focused around a modulated synthesised bassline. Influences include dub, dubstep, reggae, downtempo, jazz and funk. Jellybass was first pioneered (and aptly named) by two UK artists; DJ Chix and TnG. The genre 'Jellybass' is inspired by the likes of Mr Scruff, Mr Oizo, Danny Breaks, Tipper, Bassnectar, Treva Whateva and Jon Kennedy.
The Artist
Prior to any releases, Jellybass found themselves the hot topic of most music forums including outofthevoid.co.uk, nuskoolbreaks.co.uk and the Computer Music forums. The first Jellybass single, 'Loop da Loop' was released on Vinyl by a UK independent record label 'Random Audio Records' and is still available from Chemical Records.
The first album, entitled 'Jellybass' was released by LoHz records as an online mp3 and wav album only, sold through iTunes, Clickgroove, Tunetribe, and Trackitdown.
Following the success of the album, LoHz records released the Jellybass 'Transatlantic' single on 12" vinyl and mp3, featuring Abdominal on vocals, an MC from Canada who then joined them for a UK Tour in May 2008.
The follow up single titled "No Love" features Brixton MC Brother Culture and includes remixes by Jazzsteppa and DJ Love.
