Jdimypai Damour (or Jdimytai Damour) was a seasonal Wal-Mart employee who died in a Black Friday stampede on November 28, 2008. He was from Jamaica, Queens. Stampede Just before the 5:00 am opening of the Wal-Mart at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream, N.Y., a large crowd of customers that had been building all night broke through the store's glass doors in its greed to get at advertised bargains. Damour, who had been waiting with other employees in the entryway, was trampled by the crowd of hundreds. Damour was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital about an hour later. At least four shoppers were injured in the same stampede, including a pregnant mother who miscarried as a result of injuries and had to be hospitalized. |
