Jay R. Grodner

Jay R. Grodner is a Chicago Attorney and violent anti-war activist.

Mr. Grodner gained notoriety for a violent assault against the property of a serving United States serviceman in December 2007.
It is alleged that Mr Gordner "keyed" the vehicle of Marine Sergeant Mike McNulty while Sgt McNulty was in Chicago visiting a friend on pre-deployment leave.

Sgt McNulty was exiting the apartment of his friend, and observed a man leaning up against his vehicle, and confronted the man. When Sgt McNulty noticed the scratch on his vehicle, going from one side of the car across the back and to the other side of the car, he questioned the man as to what he had in his hand.

The following is an excerpt from the police report:

Damage estimates for repairs to Sgt McNulty's car are approximately $2,400, which qualifies as a felony offense in Illinois.

A court hearing occurred on December 31, 2007, for which Mr Grodner was late for. Due to his tardiness, the judge had issued a warrant for his arrest, but Mr Grodner arrived in court prior to the warrant being executed.
