Jay Kellner is an American conductor. He was the founder and music director of the Elgin Children's Chorus. Kellner also started Neuqua Valley High School's vocal program. The school has been recognized 8 times by the Grammy Foundation. Early Life Kellner was born in Wisconsin, and went to Sheboygan South High School. He then went on to Lawrence University and Northwestern University graduating in '92. Career Kellner told the Chicago Tribune, "We see this as an education process. We feel we are educating a child through music. After a child has spent some years in the children's choir, I like to think they've had some good life experience they wouldn't have had elsewhere." He also spoke about the alumni of the chorus saying, “When I see someone who is 30 years old come up with a huge smile on their face and talk about a tune they sang and what it meant to them, that’s a special thing. Everyone has not just memories, but are who they are because of what they experienced when they were wearing one of our uniforms.”
