Jane Christine Platt (born 8 January 1957) is a British businesswoman who has been the Chief Executive of National Savings and Investments (NS&I) since September 2006. Early life Platt was born in Liverpool. She attended the all-female Birkenhead High School, then a direct grant grammar school. She studied Modern Languages from 1975-79 at St Catherine's College, Oxford. She completed her education at the London Business School. Career Platt became Chief Executive of NS&I in September 2006. During one eight-week period under her, the bank took in £6 billion. Currently, NS&I stores around £135 billion for around 25 million people. She stood down as NS&I Chief Executive on 31 August 2016. She is on the board of the Financial Conduct Authority and the Women in Banking & Finance. Personal life She has been given a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
