James Galyean was a candidate in the 2010 Congressional race for . He dropped out of the race in January 2010. Biography Galyean graduated from Furman University in 1993 with a degree in history and political science and a law degree in 1998 from the University of South Carolina. After graduating, he worked as a staff attorney for the South Carolina Supreme Court until he accepted a position as legislative counsel to then Senator Strom Thurmond. After Thurmond's retirement, Galyean worked as chief counsel to Senator Lindsay Graham, working on "terrorism, immigration and tort reform issues, as well as Supreme Court and other judicial nominations." Personal life James is married with three children and lives in Anderson, SC. 2010 Congressional Race Galyean filed paperwork to become a candidate with the Federal Election Commission on May 15, 2009.. Reports show the campaign had $25,086 on hand at the end of June 2009. Galyean received the endorsement of The Madison Project. Galyean dropped out of the race on 22 January 2010, citing medical problems.
