Jairo Cuevas

Jairo Joel Cuevas (born January 24, 1984 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a former pitcher for the Kansas City Royals and current pitching coach for the Dominican Summer League Pirates 2.
Cuevas was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Braves on March 20, . Cuevas began his professional career in , playing at the rookie level. In his first season, he had a 2-3 record to got with a 2.77 ERA. Cuevas stayed at the rookie level in , playing for the Danville Braves. Making 10 starts in 12 games, he had a 6-1 record with a 1.91 ERA. He was also named to the Appalachian League postseason All-Star team.
Cuevas advanced to Single-A in , playing for the Rome Braves. His below average performance was marked by a 7-12 record with a 5.55 ERA. In , he played for the Single-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans. In 25 games, all starts, he had a 6-12 record despite a 3.55 ERA.
On November 20, 2007, the Braves added Cuevas to the 40 man roster, protecting him from the Rule 5 Draft.
On October 24, 2008, the Royals claimed Cuevas off waivers.
On November 26, 2008, the Braves claimed him off waivers from the Royals.
On December 10, 2008, the Royals reacquired him from the Braves. However, he was non-tendered 2 days later, and then re-signed to a minor league deal.
Cuevas did not pitch in 2009. In October 2009, he resigned with the Royals.
In 2011, he played for the Lake Erie Crushers.
