Jacqueline Quinn

Jacqueline Quinn is an Irish-born fashion designer. Taking to fashion at a young age Quinn worked for a number of Irish and UK clients before relocating to New York City in 1995. With numerous merits to her name she has dressed celebrity clients, worked as a fashion consultant, designed for department stores including Macy's and Lord and Taylor and owns her own clothing line, Quinn New York. Quinn works on both personal projects as well as collaborating with a number of celebrities, musicians and athletes in both the US and Europe, with the constant passion to merge varying artistic forms to create fashion.
Early life
Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, Quinn studied at Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology before graduating from one of Ireland's top design schools, Grafton Academy of Fashion Design with honours in 1986. She is one of five children of John and Rosemary Quinn, and grew up in the historic village of Howth, County Dublin before pursuing her career as a fashion designer at home and abroad .
Career
Starting her career at a keen age, Quinn began by working as head designer for prominent brands including John Roberts, Perry Ellis and Bill Blass Dresses.
In 2011 she helped raise money for a cancer research foundation.
In 2013 she constructed a dress made primarily from parts of sunglasses by Randolph Engineering which was worn by singer Nadia Turner live at The Hard Rock Cafe in Boston.
She has gained critical attention for her experimental use of fabrications and interpretations of classic silhouettes. Attributing her sociable and witty nature to her Irish blood, Quinn says a good sense of humour and a thick skin are necessary in the fashion industry. are also clients of Quinn's.
Quinn also works with LA stylist Ali Levine. Their collaborations have included features in InStyle magazine which focus on Quinn's statement bags amongst others.
Recently Quinn was on the judging panel for the Design for Brad Smith competition. which offered young designers the chance to spearhead an entire collection for Smith - a star player for the Philadelphia Eagles. The competition was won by.Kassie Haji as the star designer.
2014
Presently Quinn continues to develop her own collection, while also working on as head designer and creative director for a new womenswear collection Sara Emanuel. Meanwhile, Quinn continues to engage in a series of side projects in the arts. She lives in New York City with her husband Brian O'Reilly, a forensic pathologist, and her 13 year old daughter, Gabrielle, a training professional ice-skater and gymnast.
