Jacob Toft-Andersen

Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Andersen is a professional Defense of the Ancients player, best known for leading the now disbanded European MYM squad and appearing on the Dota 2 tournament The International. Maelk has left a huge mark on the DotA scene, and he is recognized as one of the most important players in the history of the game.
Gaming career
Early career
Maelk started out, like so many others, by playing Counter-Strike but in time changed to Warcraft III once it was released. He was regarded as one of the better players in the Danish competitive scene, topped the Battle.net ladders and tried playing in ESL's WC3L. He was introduced to DotA as a mean to relax but grew fond of the game and made his first competitive team under the same sponsor as he had in WC3, Boomtown, with a mixture of DotA-elites and regular WC3-players. The team had a long and successful run until they finally disbanded and MaNia, Paccie and he instead created a team, Jukes on You, with Loda and Akke.
MYM
After winning the MYM Prime Defending #3, JoY was recruited by MYM as their own DotA team. And enjoyed a long successful history in DotA until his retirement in 2011.
