Jacksons Fencing is a British designer, manufacturer and installer of timber (wood) and steel perimeter fencing and gates. It was founded in 1947 and is one of the largest UK based fencing maufacturers. It remains a family business and private limited company. Its Trident system became the first to be passed by the UK (HOSDB) in tests using the latest and most aggressive attack tools. History Jacksons Fencing was founded in Kent in 1947 by Harry Sands Jackson and his son Ian. The family had originally moved to Kent from Hendon, a north London suburb to enable Ian, their only son, to make a start in farming. However, when clearing their land, they used the timber from trees they cut down to make fencing stakes and in no time other farmers offered to buy their stakes and posts for their own use. Jacksons Fencing grew rapidly from those humble beginings and in July 1967 the business was incorporated as a limited company. By the end of the 1960's the company had extended its range from simply agricultural fencing and gates to include garden fencing and gates. In 1985, Jacksons Fencing established a seperate production facility on the same site to design and manufacture steel and security perimeter fencing and gates. During the early 1990's Jacksons Fencing revolutionised the fencing industry by introducing a 25 year guarantee on all their 'Jakcure' vacuum pressure treated timber products and a 25 year service life guarantee on their steel and security fencing. These guarantees continue to lead industry standards in the UK. In 2003, the company introduced its Jakoustic acoustic barrier system to overcome three major concerns in today's crowded environments - unwanted noise ingress, security and privacy. The system employs a timber or timber and steel construction and has been employed in numerous applications spanning residential homes to schools, industrial and high security. Jacksons Fencing Today Today, Jacksons Fencing employs over 200 staff operating from facilities in Ashford (Kent), Bath and Chester and serves customers around the world. In January 2009, following three years of in-house testing, development testing with the Loss Prevention Certification Board and live testing by the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB), Jacksons Fencing beacame the first company to achieve for their new range of Trident ultra high security fencing systems at the two highest security levels in tests employing the latest and most aggressive tools and techniques. The Trident fencing system was designed specifically for the highest security applications including the protection of critical national infrastructure.
