Jackson Ellis

Jackson Ellis (born May 20, 1980 in Rutland, Vermont) is a writer, co-publisher and founding editor of Verbicide magazine, and a managing partner of Scissor Press. Ellis has co-published and managed Scissor Press and Verbicide with Nathaniel Pollard since 2004.

In addition to Verbicide (1999-present), Ellis also has edited and published Excommunication fanzine (2002-2003), Boston Heights magazine (2004), and VerbicideMagazine.com webzine (2006-present). He created and compiled the PROTECT: A Benefit for the National Association to Protect Children charity record in 2005 with Vanessa Burt of Fat Wreck Chords. He is also currently the producer and publisher of the Verbicide New Sounds CD compilation series, produced for New England music retailer Newbury Comics.

Since 1999, Ellis has published 24 issues of Verbicide. Authors he has published in Verbicide include Ray Bradbury, Jack Kerouac, Hunter S. Thompson, Diane Di Prima, John Fante, Nelson Algren, Jeremy Robert Johnson, and Raegan Butcher.

He co-founded Scissor Press in New Haven, Connecticut, and currently lives in Ludlow, Vermont.
