IUB, School of Business (ISB) of Independent University, Bangladesh offers both undergraduate and master's degrees. The School of Business offers a variety of opportunities for study, work, and enrichment of the mind for the students.
The school offers nine majors for undergraduate and four majors at the graduate level. More than 4000 students are studying in the school; the student/teacher ratio in most classes is 20-1. The courses offered by the school are transferable to any other universities around the world.
History
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) established in 1993 is the leading private university in Bangladesh with an explicit focus on Research and Global partnerships. We are a full service, oriented university with a current enrollment of 5,500 students, 8900 Alumni and 250 faculty members (of which 25% have PhD’s mostly from North America).
Mission
Established in 1993 as a private university Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) is dedicated to the mission of promoting higher education and sustainable economic growth in the country through a two-way relationship between the community and the university. It has been designed following the guidelines of the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest accreditation body of business schools in USA. Faculty members teaching in the MBA program have Ph.D. from North America, Australia, UK, or equivalent universities. This is maintained to meet the AACSB requirement.
Graduate Program
IUB School of Business provide two types of graduate or master’s program.

MBA Program
MBA students can finish the program within 5 semesters taking maximum course load if they do not get any waiver or transfer course. But one may finish the program within 3 semesters because of waivers or transfer course/(s). However, students will be allowed up to 5 years from the date of initial enrollment to complete their degree requirements. Students can concentrate in finance, HRM, marketing and banking.

EMBA Program
Students can finish the program within 3 semesters because of waivers or transfer course/(s). However, students will be allowed up to 5 years from the date of initial enrollment to complete their degree requirements. To graduate, students must earn credit for 16 courses (48 credit hours) with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and meet the residency requirement of IUB EMBA Program. Students can concentrate in Entrepreneurship development and management, HRM, marketing and finance.

Undergraduate Program
IUB School of Business, in combination with the main IUB campus, offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree intended to disseminate the knowledge, professional and technical skills necessary for success in the contemporary business world. Students can concentrate in accounting, finance, general management, human resource management, international business, management information systems and marketing.

Independent Business Review
IBR is a bi-annual international standard scholarly journal published at School of Business. It is a peer-reviewed journal where all its articles are subject to blind review. The mission of this journal is to provide the widest possible dissemination of knowledge based on scholarly inquiries in business administration as a field of professional research and educational activity. It aims to publish papers relating to business administration and socio- economic development. The journal is targeted at both academic researchers and management professionals. It invites papers concerning application of theory to real life business administration/management activities where the findings would be interesting and useful to entrepreneurs, academics, researchers and students of business administration. It started its journey in 2008. Since then, it is successfully publishing two issues per year. The Independent Business Review (IBR), has been recognized for indexing by PROQUEST.
