Irina Orendi (born 28 November 1908, date of death unknown) was a Romanian athlete. She competed in the at the 1928 Summer Olympics. Career Orendi was, along with Berta Jikeli, the first female Olympian to represent Romania. She was called a "leading girl athlete" coming into the Games. At the 1928 Olympics, Orendi was seeded in the 'A' qualifying round. She jumped 1.35 m to place 11th in her group and did not advance to the finals. On 8 August 1931 in , Orendi set the Romanian national record in the high jump. She jumped 1.427 metres to set the record. In 1929, Orendi also set the Romanian record over 100 metres of 13 seconds. Orendi competed in the athletics division of the team. She won the 1928 Romanian Athletics Championships in the 100 metres, high jump, long jump, shot put, and javelin throw. The following year, she won the 1929 championships in the 100 metres with a 13.2 second mark. She also won the 1930 championships in the 100 metres, high jump, and long jump.
